School the last few days of the week [3]

I am still sick form fever but my temperature has died down since Saturday. My temperature on Saturday was 39 degrees Celsius which was quite high for a fever. But now my temperature has dropped down to 37.7-38 degrees Celsius. But let us not talk about my condition.

On Thursday, Mr. Quek led the lesson without much trouble. He taught a topic on dioramas and then came drawing, drawing and more drawings. We even went to the canteen to do a drawing on it. It was quite boring but I learnt a new drawing (another “drawing” word) technique from his lesson. Next lesson was mathematics and I do not want to fill up this whole page writing all the mathematics formulas and reasons for doing them. You will get so bored and skip all of them and thus I save your trouble (and mine too) and skip them. But overall mathematics lesson is not too boring as I somewhat like mathematics. But I do not know why but Oscar in some way think that today is the fire drill and it really was. So we asked Miss Lim when the fire drill was and as she knew when she faked that it is maybe on Friday although later during literature there was a fire drill. But Miss Lim was bad at faking and we all guessed that on that day had fire drill so whenever the bell rings every 35 mins or one period, Si Hui would start saying “Oh! Fire drill!” and the class would be laughing their heads off when the bell stopped.

Next was the fire drill period, we waited anxiously for the bell but as it was going near the end of the period, we though there was no more fire drill for that day but suddenly the fire bell rang. Everyone jumped for joy, not realizing that a fire drill at this time would cause us to be released late. So we listened to the announcement and made our way down to the field. Last time, the field was a sandy field and thus sand would be flying every where when the wind comes. But now we have an artificial turf and thus no more sand and now its throwing those rubber beads around and although they are harmless, they are pretty annoying.

On Friday, the lessons were pretty normal but I started to feel a bit of headache in the morning. During recess, I took some time to rest by putting my head on the table. Then as the day progress, my headache came and went, came and went and so on. But the worse was yet to come. After the lessons on Friday I thought of whether to go for my CCA, NPCC. It was a hard choice but I still wanted to go for it. Should I have known better, not going is better but I wanted to see the sec 1’s so I went. I told my sir that I had a fever and wanted to sit and see the rest do their drills. So I did as what I said. But when it was coming near 4o‘clock, I really had a big headache and asked the sir to let me go home first. So I took my bag and made my way home. I should have just gone home and not going to my CCA.

Now my illness is still bad but I think I can go to school tomorrow. That’s all for my third and last assignment. Hope I can be well enough to attend school tomorrow.

Funny happenings and the very sad thing [2]

This week there were many funny things that happened. Firstly, in mother tongue class, while we were listening to our Miss Ding, my neighboring friend wanted to drink water. So he took it out from his bag but he accidentally squished it too hard a crack in the bottle appeared. At first no water flowed out as the crack was closed. But as he wanted to fine the crack, he pressed all round the bottle to find it. But as he pressed the bottle, water started to flow out like a “broken dam filled with a lot of water”. The people sitting beside or behind him all rolled with laughter.

The next funny thing that happened was the fetching of my brother. My brother finished his JC years and now he is army at the age of 19. As this is the Friday, my mum went to the area to pick up my brother. But she forgot that my brother will be coming back on Saturday in the afternoon. So like “a dumb person looking for something that is not there”, she set off to the pick up point, Paya Lebar, by MRT (not you sir) or the real expanded words, mass rapid transport. She waited for a long time but he did not come. As it was getting late, I called her through our house phone and asked her why she took so long. She answered back saying my brother have not arrived and thus I asked her if the time for picking up was Friday as my brother may need to stay back for guard duty or some long activities.

Lastly, the bad news, I had fever on Friday and that explains a lot of things. During class I may look tired and sleepy as my headache is killing me but I managed to concentrate for the rest of the lesson. For my CCA, NPCC, time, I did not want to do any thing as I was afraid to worsen my fever so I just looked at them from a corner. The sec 1’s also came that day. But in the end my fever became so bad that I went home earlier. It was really sad as I wanted to stay till the end of my CCA. And this fever thing also explain why I did not go with my mum to fetch my brother at Paya Lebar MRT station (not you again sir).

To wrap up this assignment number 2, I wish I can get well soon and be back all well on Monday as I do not want to miss any lesson (missing lessons are bad as you will not know what we did that day and when we are to pass up something the teacher passed them to do the previous day on the next day it would be very sad and we sometimes need to meet the teacher the next day in the morning to pass to him. Thus I want to get will soon!!!

That’s all for my second personal recount assignment.

School life this week [1]

This week was quite tiring. I have received many projects with considerable weightage for my CA1. My parents also want me to do well for my CA1. So far, I have Design and Technology (DnT) project, Online Project Work, Literature Multimedia Project and a mathematics project coming up. I am really busy with so much homework and stuffs and I really have no idea if I will be able to cope. But I will try my very best.

Choosing the members for my projects are hard because many of the people wanted to have their own group. Some of the time I would be left out and need to get into a group with not enough people. But sometimes I am lucky like for the mathematics and OPW. These projects I got some of my better friends to do with. Thus I am quite satisfied.

My upcoming mathematics project is very hard. We need to find out the diameter for the gigantic school crest behind the amphitheater. It is hard as it is suspended high in the air so climbing up to take measurements is impossible unless you are “Spiderman”. I got some ideas like going to the amphitheater to measure the windows length as they are close to the diameter of the crest. Another method is using a photo and standing under the crest to find the 2 spots where the end of the diameter is and measure it using the string or measuring tape.

Mr Thiru, our new history teacher, is actually a great teacher and he can teach really fast. I hope my history will improve this year as it was my one of my worst subject last year 2007.This week's homework was not so hard and lessons went well. This week is also not as slack as the first week and thus I will gear myself up. This is also the sec 2 where I will choose where I will end up in sec 3. As my parents and mine own hopes are the triple science class, I need to work hard for it. I hope I can achieve my hopes. This week's homework was not so taxing and lessons went well.

That’s all for my first personal recount assignment.

First week at school

Today is Friday and it is the last day of the first week. The holidays are over and I need to get myself geared up for the new year. On the first first day of school, i saw many sec 1's who are taking a long time to get into two lines and sitting down. I remembered the first day i went to the school too. I was very afraid and nearly got lost, but now i got used to the surroundings of Victoria School. I remembered on the first day of school where all the teachers were busy with the sec 1 and thus we were very free. But I only do not like the Chinese on the first day as the Chinese teacher did not come on the first period till recess. I am not a avid lover of Chinese too. But after recess, the teacher came but she was busy doing the register for that class as my Chinese class is the biggest of all the other classes. The sec 1's are busy preparing for their orientation camp so I can understand the "missing" teachers.
On the second day, things were different as the sec 1's are going to their camp. But there are still some teachers who are busy with them like Miss Lim and thus, Thursday's maths lesson was just doing assigned work. But after recess, a relief teacher came to take over the class. Later, the literature lesson's teacher is also absent. So we had no teacher for the rest of the day. The class was very noisy but David, our monitor, managed to calm the class down till the end of the day. I think he did a pretty good job as a monitor. On the third day, things were back to normal and we resumed our lessons. All the teachers were present and the lessons were smooth. We had biology for science this term and we also had the same teacher as last year. For History lesson, the teacher called us to introduce ourselves. Chinese lessons are normal and English we went to the IT lab to make out accounts for our blog and do a blog on our first week in school. It was fun creating the account for our blogs. Let me sum up my entry saying that this week is a very nice week where we can do not be so serious but we must get off from out holiday mood and geared up as the sec 2 year is very important. I hope to study hard and get to triple science next year.
